According to latest reports, the current shortfall in availability of hospitality professionals in Indiais approximately 35,000. This gap is expected to widen and likely to reach 100,000 by 2010 when an additional 40,000 would have been added. All these information just point in one direction where hotel management schools, might just be the medicine for the cure hotel industry is looking forward to.

Director’s Message

Globalization has come to stay in India. It has helped us look at certain profession with more respect and dignity. The hospitality industry is one of them. The establishment in today’s hospitality and tourism industry are global businesses. At GIHM, Bilimora we try to provide students a curriculum that helps to build the solid business foundation and the hands-on experience needed to succeed in this industry.

At GIHM, Bilimora you will find a dynamic learning environment enhanced by practicum you are required to complete. Our small class size means interaction and personal attention for each student. Moreover faculty at GIHM, Bilimora has years of experience in the industry as well as in teaching. This blend of academic expertise and practical experience provides for a “real world” presentation of subject material there by giving our students a head start into what has become an increasingly competitive industry where only the very best will survive.

"Colleges in India are producing quality people who are academically strong but institutions still seem to follow a formal style. They need to bring out the personality of people and give them the confidence to look people in the eye while speaking to them. In India, the majority is looking for a full-time career in the industry.

More women were joining the hospitality industry every year. "Girls are as ambitious as boys - to some extent more organized - so they can balance work and home. They are serious about their careers.

"Attitude is the No. 1 reason why we recruit someone. We can teach people all the other things. Then we look for confidence and commitment, and try to see whether they are inclined to customer service, whether they are team players with strong personalities and leadership qualities

On behalf of GIHM I take this opportunity to welcome you all to be the part of ever increasing and growing “GIHM FAMILY” and wish you all the very best in your future endeavors.
